Last night I took a drive to Loch Lomond. My original plan was to climb Conic Hill and watch the sunset, but being a bit of a dummy I took a wrong turn off the path and ended up on a much lower hill without much of a view, so not wanting to lose out completely I made my way back down to the car & headed further up the Eastern side of the loch to Rowardennan where I took these photos.
Conic Hill will have to wait for another day…with a map!
No it’s not the title of the next movie blockbuster, but it’s how I spent my weekend. My beautiful wife (I never know if she might read this blog), was going to a stitching retreat. Her original plan was to fly down, but the flights didn’t work out so I agreed to drive her and her friend down instead. Well when I say agreed….
Anyway 8 hours there & 8 hours back. The M5, M6, M74 was a pure delight in both directions. Wife had a great time with her stitching friends and I spent my time exploring the local area and taking a few pictures.
We stayed in Bideford, and this is the Long Bridge across the River Torridge on Friday night.
Saturday was a glorious summer day, and I went to Hartland to take some shots of the rocky shore. It sounds like we did well to miss a winter weekend in June back home. On Saturday evening I headed north to Lee near Ilfracombe and caught the sunset.
There are more pictures still to be edited, so I’ll be busy for the next few days I think.
It seems a long time since we had such a pleasant evening. Last night I headed out to Knapps Loch at Kilmacolm to catch the sunset.
After Knapps Loch I headed back home & took this panoramic shot of Greenock & the River Clyde.
